American Red Snapper are a popular bottom fish known for their beauty & amazing taste. They're typically found in depths of 100-150ft of water and they can be caught several ways. The most popular is bottom fishing with live bait such as pilchards, pinfish, shrimp and threadfin herring. Frozen cut bait such as frozen sardines and squid are also very effective. Bottom jigging is very deadly as well. State & Federal seasons and regulations change, so be sure to ask us what is in season at the time you would like to go fishing.

Mangrove Snapper

Also known as a “gray snapper”, Mangrove Snapper are one of the most abundant species found in our region and can be harvested year round. They are an awesome species to catch on light tackle. They can be caught on fresh cut bait, live shrimp & pinfish. With their delicious flavor and exciting fight, they are sure to provide a memorable fishing experience for you and your family.

Gag & Red Grouper

Gag and Red Grouper are both very abundant bottom fish in our waters that are known for their fighting ability and excellent table fair, one of the most sought fish to catch in our area. They're typically found in waters less than 200 feet deep, and they can be caught by bottom fishing or jigging. State & Federal seasons and regulations change, so be sure to ask us what is in season at the time you would like to go fishing. They are seasonal to keep. However, we can catch them year round. Super fun on light tackle!

Hogfish

Hogfish are a delicious and popular fish to catch in the Gulf of Mexico. They can be caught year-round, but the best time to catch them is in the Winter months. Hogfish are found in shallow water, typically around reefs and wrecks. They can be caught using a variety of methods, including bottom fishing, jigging, and spearfishing.

Also known as the King Mackerel, Kingfish is a popular game fish found in the Gulf of Mexico. It is a member of the mackerel family, and is closely related to the Spanish Mackerel. Around here, we call them “smokers” because of their blistering drag screaming runs. Yes, they have made fishing reels smoke. They also make amazing smoked fish dip!

Blackfin Tuna

Blackfin Tuna are found in both shallow and deep water in the Gulf of Mexico. They are often found around reefs, wrecks, and other structure. The best time to catch them is during the Spring and Fall months. They are known for their blistering runs, hard fight & exceptional taste. Seared or raw, they are delicious!  Break out the soy sauce!

Cobia

Cobia are a popular game fish in the Gulf of Mexico. They can be caught year-round, but the best time to catch them is during the Spring and Fall months. Cobia are found in both shallow and deep water, but they are most commonly found in water that is 20 to 60 feet deep. They are often found around reefs, wrecks, and other structure. They can reach weights of up to 80lbs and are known for their hard fighting ability.  If you are looking for a challenge, catching cobia in the Gulf of Mexico is a great experience. Cobia are a great game fish, and they are also delicious.
